El Comitán is a cool, calm, tranquil beach town just outside La Paz on the bay, with no high-rises and a super relaxed feel. It is where buyers get the most bang for their buck. This guide covers what has actually sold there, drawn from my MLS BCS search of the area in Flexmls.
What El Comitán is like
El Comitán is about 11 km out of La Paz, on the Sea of Cortez side of the road. There are mangrove beaches to explore and one really nice sandy beach with palapas, Playa El Comitán (listed on Google Maps as Playa El Comitán – Punto Playa Centenario). It has more of a beach vibe than neighboring El Centenario, which is where you get more space and, on the hillside, views of the city.
