Medano Beach vs. Golf Corridor: Where to Buy in Cabo San Lucas
Once buyers settle on Cabo San Lucas, the next decision is usually which submarket fits them best. The two most common options could not be more different in feel: the Medano Beach corridor, and the golf course communities in the surrounding hills.
Medano Beach
Walkable, social, and steps from the marina and the town’s restaurant and nightlife scene. Properties here tend to be condos and vertical developments with strong short-term rental demand, since this is exactly the strip vacationers want to stay on.
Golf corridor
Quieter, more residential, and built around golf course villas and estate-style homes with more space and privacy. This submarket appeals to buyers who want a resort lifestyle without the density and noise of the beach strip, often at a larger lot size for the price.
How to decide
If rental income and walkable nightlife matter most, Medano Beach usually wins. If space, privacy, and golf matter more than walkability, the golf corridor is the better fit. Some buyers split the difference by renting in one area for a season before committing to purchase in either.
